Ask about kitchen tiles price and most people expect one number per square foot. It is really two numbers, because a kitchen has two very different tiling jobs: a floor that takes foot traffic, dropped steel vessels and the odd spill of hot oil, and a wall strip behind the counter that mostly has to wipe clean. They are priced differently, bought in different quantities, and the cheaper one is not always the one you expect.
This guide covers what our kitchen range costs where we publish a price, how much tile you need for the floor and backsplash, and the extras that add to the bill once the tiler arrives. We stock 215 kitchen tile designs: 150 for walls and 65 for floors.
One thing to say before the numbers. Most of our wall designs carry no published price and are quoted on request, so the figures below cover only the designs that do have a listed price.
Prices are per sq ft, as listed on our product pages in November 2026. The "priced" column tells you how many designs in each group carry a published figure. Everything else in that group is quoted at the counter.
| Range | Designs | Priced | Listed price per sq ft |
| Floor, marble and stone | 23 | 17 | ₹65 to ₹145 |
| Floor, plain and texture | 14 | 3 | ₹65 to ₹67 |
| Floor, moroccan | 4 | 1 | ₹87 |
| Floor, wooden | 16 | 0 | On request |
| Floor, geometrical | 8 | 0 | On request |
| Wall, highlighter | 87 | 3 | ₹74 to ₹77 |
| Wall, marble | 6 | 4 | ₹77 |
| Wall, marble and stone | 3 | 2 | ₹77 |
| Wall, plain | 6 | 1 | ₹67 |
| Wall, concept, geometrical, subway, moroccan, terrazzo | 48 | 0 | On request |
On the floor side, 21 of the 65 designs have a listed price, and the marble and stone group is the best documented, with a middle price of ₹77. On the wall side, only 10 of 150 designs have one, which is why we keep saying "on request". The highlighter range alone runs to 87 designs, and only 3 of them are priced online.
Some priced designs carry an offer below the list price from time to time, so ask at the counter what currently applies.
Wall tiles in our priced list sit in a tight band, ₹67 to ₹77. The floor goes from ₹65 to ₹145. Almost all of that gap is size.
The ₹145 designs in the kitchen marble and stone floor range are 1200x1800 mm matt slabs, such as Aarezo Natural-Endless and AL Laffy Green. The ₹65 end of the same range includes a 400x400 mm tile. Same look, more than double the price, because large formats cost more to make, ship and handle.
Large slabs are not automatically the better buy in a kitchen. A typical Bengaluru apartment kitchen is narrow, with a gas pipe, a drain point and a utility door, and each means cuts. With 1200x1800 mm you lose more to offcuts and need a properly levelled floor, so the real cost per usable sq ft climbs further. For a small or galley kitchen, 600x600 mm or 600x1200 mm is usually the sensible size, and it keeps you near the ₹65 to ₹77 part of the list. Our kitchen floor tile ideas guide covers which looks suit which layout.
Finish matters for safety more than price. 135 of our kitchen designs are matt against 65 glossy. On the floor, take matt, because a glossy floor with a film of oil is genuinely slippery. Glossy belongs on the wall.
The backsplash is the strip of wall between the countertop and the wall cabinets, there to keep oil and steam off the plaster. It is a small area, so you can spend more per sq ft on it. If you want a statement tile anywhere in the kitchen, put it here.
Wall tiles are often glazed ceramic, made for walls and not foot traffic. Do not put one on a kitchen floor to save money: it will chip under a dropped kadai. Across our kitchen range, 94 designs are ceramic and 105 are vitrified, so check which one you are looking at before you assign it to a surface. Our vitrified versus ceramic guide explains the difference in water absorption and strength.
For design ideas, the kitchen backsplash tile ideas post and the modern kitchen tiles design guide cover layouts, colours and patterns. If you are after the classic brick-bond look, we carry 9 subway designs, and a 75x300 mm format turns up on 13 designs in the kitchen range.
This is the calculation people skip, and it tells you whether a premium tile is affordable.
At ₹77 per sq ft, 32 sq ft plus 10 percent wastage is about 35 sq ft, or roughly ₹2,700 in tile.
If there are no wall cabinets and you tile to a fixed height such as 7 ft, the area can be three or four times larger. Many Indian kitchens tile the full wall behind the hob anyway, because tadka splatter travels higher than the cabinet line. Decide the height before you ask for a quote.
A 10 by 8 ft kitchen is 80 sq ft. Add 10 percent for wastage and you are buying around 88 sq ft, more if the tile is very large or the room has many corners.
At our listed prices, 88 sq ft works out at roughly ₹5,720 for a ₹65 tile and roughly ₹12,760 for a ₹145 slab. That is tile only, before laying.
Ask your contractor early whether the floor will be tiled under the base cabinets or only up to their plinth. The full floor costs more tile but survives a future kitchen change. Settle it before ordering, because the quantity changes.
Tiles are sold by the box, not by the sq ft, so the final figure always rounds up to whole boxes. Our guide to working out how many tiles you need goes through the box-by-box method, and for a whole-house comparison of floor costs by room, see our floor tiles price guide.
The per sq ft price is the tile alone. These items sit on top of it.
Bengaluru's hard water leaves white scale behind the sink. Glossy tiles wipe clean, but grout lines hold the scale, which is one more reason to choose epoxy.
If you are pricing a bathroom at the same time, our bathroom tiles price guide for Bangalore covers that room separately, since its wall and floor split is quite different.
Visit our BTM Layout showroom with the counter length, the backsplash height and the floor measurements written down. We have 31 of these kitchen designs on display, including every priced design in the kitchen marble and stone floor tiles, and we can price the rest of the kitchen wall tiles and kitchen floor tiles range for you on the spot, box count included.
At our showroom, priced kitchen floor tiles run from ₹65 to ₹145 per sq ft, and priced kitchen wall tiles from ₹67 to ₹77 per sq ft. Only some designs carry a listed price, so most of the wall range, including most highlighter designs, is quoted on request. Large format floor slabs sit at the top of the range.
Per sq ft, our priced wall tiles sit in a narrow band of ₹67 to ₹77, while floor tiles range from ₹65 to ₹145, mostly because of large slab formats. The bigger difference is quantity. A backsplash is often around 30 sq ft, so even an expensive wall tile costs far less in total than the floor.
Multiply the running length of the counter in feet by the height from the counter top to the wall cabinets. A 16 ft L-shaped counter with a 2 ft backsplash gives 32 sq ft. Subtract large windows but not switchboards, then add about 10 percent for wastage and round up to whole boxes.
Matt. Kitchen floors get oil and water on them every day, and a glossy tile with an oil film becomes slippery. Most of our kitchen range is matt, 135 designs against 65 glossy. Keep glossy tiles for the backsplash, where they wipe clean quickly and nobody walks on them.
Yes. Cement grout absorbs oil, turmeric and hard water deposits and discolours quickly, especially behind the hob and sink. Epoxy grout costs more per kilo but resists stains and water, so the joints stay the colour you chose. In a kitchen it is the one upgrade we would always recommend.
No. Wall tiles are often thinner glazed ceramic made for vertical surfaces, and they can chip or crack under foot traffic and dropped vessels. Use a tile sold for floors, ideally matt vitrified. The reverse works fine: many floor tiles can go on a wall if the wall can take the weight.
Budget for laying labour, extra cutting around switchboards and the gas point, tile adhesive, epoxy grout, skirting where the floor meets an exposed wall, edge trims for the backsplash, and wastage of around 10 percent. Labour rates vary by contractor and by tile size, so get a written quote before you order.
Reading about it only gets you so far. Everything here is on the floor at our BTM Layout showroom, so you can put two options side by side, in daylight, before committing. Tell us what you are choosing between and we will have them ready before you arrive.
