Ask what a wash basin costs and you get a range so wide it tells you nothing: wash basin price in our own catalogue runs from ₹1,055 to ₹90,000. It only starts to mean something once you know which type of basin you need and which brand you are looking at.
We carry 339 wash basins from two brands, Sonet and Kohler, and every one with a material listed is ceramic. This guide breaks the prices down by basin type and by brand, explains why one basin can cost several times another, and lists the costs that sit on top of the basin itself, because the bowl is rarely the whole bill.
One thing to say upfront: we sell the basin, not the furniture under it. We do not stock bathroom vanity units, so if you choose a table top or counter basin, the counter comes from your carpenter or stone supplier.
These are the listed prices across our range in November 2026. Not every model carries a price online, so the "priced" column tells you how many of the figures are backed by a listed rate. The rest are quoted on request.
| Basin type | Designs | On display | Priced | Price range (₹ per piece) | Median |
| Table top | 217 | 51 | 192 | 1,430 to 90,000 | 6,570 |
| With pedestal | 48 | 17 | 38 | 2,600 to 80,000 | 5,710 |
| Wall hung | 39 | 24 | 26 | 1,055 to 21,500 | 1,670 |
| One piece | 25 | 23 | 23 | 3,430 to 11,430 | 8,145 |
| Counter | 10 | 0 | 7 | 2,855 to 16,000 | 5,400 |
Look at the median column before the range. The top of most ranges is pulled up by a handful of Kohler designer pieces, while the median tells you where most of the stock actually sits. Half of our priced wall hung basins are at ₹1,670 or below. Half of the priced table top basins are at ₹6,570 or below.
Table top basins are the bulk of what people buy now, and the bulk of what we stock: 217 designs, 51 of them on display in the showroom. They sit on a counter like a bowl, so they need a counter and a tall body tap. Sizes run from compact 400 x 400 mm bowls to 700 mm long ones.
Wall hung basins are the cheapest way to put a basin on a wall, and for a utility space or a rental flat they are the right buy. The pipework below stays exposed unless you box it in.
A basin with pedestal uses a ceramic column to hide the trap and carry some of the weight. A one piece basin takes that further, with the bowl and stand cast as a single floor-standing piece. This is the type you can see most completely in the showroom: 23 of the 25 designs are on display.
Counter basins are set into a cut-out in the counter rather than sitting on top. We list 10, so ask at the counter if this is the type you want and we will show you the designs and check which can be seen in person.
Of the 339 basins, 278 are Sonet and 56 are Kohler, with the remaining five listed without a brand.
| Basin type | Sonet (priced models) | Sonet range (₹) | Kohler (priced models) | Kohler range (₹) |
| Table top | 161 | 1,430 to 11,430 | 28 | 7,000 to 90,000 |
| With pedestal | 36 | 2,600 to 9,140 | 1 | 80,000 |
| Wall hung | 25 | 1,055 to 6,000 | 1 | 21,500 |
| One piece | 22 | 3,430 to 11,430 | None | Not stocked |
| Counter | 3 | 2,855 to 5,145 | 4 | 5,400 to 16,000 |
Every priced Sonet basin we carry is ₹11,430 or less. Every priced Kohler basin starts at ₹5,400, and the Kohler table top range starts at ₹7,000. So the real decision is simple: if your budget for the basin is under ₹7,000, you are choosing among Sonet designs, and there are a lot of them. If you want a specific Kohler shape or finish, expect to pay for the name and the design work, not for a thicker bowl.
We will say plainly that for most apartment bathrooms in Bengaluru, a well-chosen Sonet table top basin at ₹4,000 to ₹8,000 does the job a Kohler basin several times the price does. Where Kohler earns its price is in unusual shapes, slimmer edges and colours that are hard to find elsewhere. If none of those matter to you, put the money into a better tap. Our guide to sanitary ware brands in India covers how the wider market compares.
A few Sonet examples to anchor the numbers: the RICON 001 is listed at ₹6,570 in a 400 x 400 mm glossy bowl, the COVER 50 and Selvo are both listed at ₹3,720, and the EPIC (60) 021 in matt is listed at ₹8,285. Some Sonet models carry an offer price below list from time to time, so ask what currently applies.
Our basins are ceramic, and sanitary ware basins are typically made from vitreous china, a glazed ceramic fired so the body absorbs very little water. Clean the glaze with a soft cloth and mild cleaner, not acid.
A basin price on a tag is never the price of a working basin. Budget for these as well:
If you are mixing chrome, black or gold across the bathroom, read our bathroom fittings finish guide first.
Two Bengaluru-specific notes. Hard water leaves white scale around the drain and tap, and it shows faster on matt and dark basins than on glossy white, so if nobody wants to wipe the basin daily, choose glossy. And in apartments, check with the association before moving a basin to a new wall, because shifting the drain point can mean cutting into a shared stack. Visit our BTM Layout showroom with your counter length and the height you want the basin rim at. We have 115 basins on display, and we will put the bowl you like on a counter beside a tall body tap so you can check the height before anyone cuts the stone.
In our catalogue, wash basins range from ₹1,055 for a basic Sonet wall hung basin to ₹90,000 for a Kohler designer table top basin. Most of the stock sits much lower: the median table top basin is ₹6,570 and the median wall hung basin is ₹1,670. Prices are listed per piece and do not include the tap, waste coupling or installation.
A wall hung basin is cheaper to buy and cheaper to install. Our Sonet wall hung basins run from ₹1,055 to ₹6,000, while Sonet table top basins run from ₹1,430 to ₹11,430. A table top basin also needs a counter, a tall body tap and usually a different waste coupling, so the total cost gap is wider than the basin price alone suggests.
Only if you want a specific shape, colour or slim edge that Sonet does not offer. Both brands are ceramic, and both do the basic job well. Priced Kohler basins in our range start at ₹5,400 and the table top models start at ₹7,000. For a common bathroom or rental flat, a Sonet basin is the more sensible buy.
No. We sell the basin, the taps and the connections, but we do not stock bathroom vanity units or counter slabs. For a table top or counter basin, your carpenter or stone supplier builds the counter. Bring their drawing to the showroom and we will help you match a basin size and tap height to it.
A tap or mixer, a waste coupling, a bottle trap or P trap, a connection pipe and an angle cock. Table top basins need a tall body tap so the spout clears the rim, and bowls without an overflow hole need a matching waste coupling. Then add the counter, if your basin type needs one, and plumbing labour.
Glossy is easier to keep clean, especially with the hard water most Bengaluru homes get, because scale and soap marks wipe off a shiny glaze more easily. Matt looks softer and more current, but shows water marks sooner. Most of our basins are glossy, with 218 glossy models against 84 matt ones.
We have 115 basins on display at the BTM Layout showroom, out of 339 in the catalogue. That includes 51 table top basins, 24 wall hung, 23 one piece and 17 pedestal basins. Ask at the counter for counter basins and we will show you the designs and check which can be seen in person.
Reading about it only gets you so far. Everything here is on the floor at our BTM Layout showroom, so you can put two options side by side, in daylight, before committing. Tell us what you are choosing between and we will have them ready before you arrive.
