600x600 mm Tiles (2x2 Feet) in Bangalore
600x600 mm, the 2x2 foot square, was the standard Indian floor tile for two decades and still suits rooms where a long rectangular tile would not settle. One tile covers about 3.88 square feet, and four to a box gives roughly 15.5 square feet.

When a Square Beats a Rectangle
A square tile has no direction, so it does not fight the shape of an awkward room. In a small or irregular space, or one that opens into a passage at an odd angle, a 2x2 floor settles where a 2x4 would look like it was laid to the wrong wall.
It is also easier to work with. The tiles are lighter, a single person can set them, and a slightly uneven screed causes far less trouble than it would under a large format.
Quantities
Area in square feet, plus ten per cent for a straight layout, divided by about 15.5 per box. A 120 square foot room comes to nine boxes, plus one spare kept from the same batch.
Where It Works
Kitchens, balconies, utility areas and smaller bedrooms. It is also the common choice for a rental or a quick refit, since it is quicker to lay and easier to replace a single damaged tile later.
