300x600 mm Tiles (1x2 Feet) in Bangalore
300x600 mm, or 1x2 feet, is the workhorse wall tile. It suits a bathroom or kitchen wall that is broken up by a window, a door and pipework, where a very large tile would spend most of its life being cut.

The Practical Wall Size
One tile covers about 1.94 square feet, and most designs come five to a box for roughly 9.7 square feet. On a bathroom wall that is interrupted by a window, a cistern and a shower valve, this size lands full tiles in more places than a 600x1200 would, so you buy less and waste less.
Laying It
Vertical or horizontal
Run it horizontally and a narrow bathroom reads wider. Run it vertically and a low ceiling reads taller. Decide before the tiler sets out, because the cuts land differently.
Stacked or staggered
A stacked grid looks contemporary and shows any error in the setting out. A half stagger is more forgiving and reads more traditional. Neither costs more.
Floor or Wall
Most of this range is made for walls. If you want the same size underfoot, check the tile is rated for floor use before buying, and prefer a matt surface. Our guide to vitrified versus ceramic tiles explains why a wall tile should not go on a floor.
