What Is in This Range
80 designs, with 600x1200mm (2x4 foot) making up the majority and a smaller group in 1200x1800mm. The material is vitrified throughout, which is the right choice for a kitchen floor because its low water absorption means spilled water and oil sit on the surface rather than soaking in.
Glossy or Matt in a Kitchen
Roughly three quarters of this range is glossy and the rest matt, and the choice is more consequential in a kitchen than in any other room. Cooking oil travels further than people expect, and oil plus water on a glossy floor is a genuine slip risk in the one room where you carry hot pans. A matt marble look holds grip far better underfoot.
The trade is cleaning effort. Glossy wipes clean in seconds and shows every mark an hour later. Matt hides daily marks and needs a proper scrub with a degreaser every few weeks rather than a wipe every day. Our matt versus glossy guide covers this room by room, and if grip is your main concern, read the anti-skid guide as the same principles apply.
Price
Priced designs here run from Rs 53 to Rs 119 per square foot. Several designs are quoted rather than listed, so ask and we will send the rate the same day.
Practical Points Before You Order
Kitchen floors and wall tiles are not the same tile
Wall tiles are thinner and are not built to carry foot traffic or a dropped pan. Buy and count them separately, and never put a wall tile on a kitchen floor. Our guide to vitrified versus ceramic tiles explains the difference in body and why it matters.
Plan the cuts around the fittings
A kitchen floor wastes more material than a bedroom of the same size, because of the sink outlet, the hob run and the cabinet plinths. Add fifteen per cent rather than ten when you work out quantities.
Keep one box spare
Tiles are made in batches and shade varies slightly between them. A spare box from the original batch turns a cracked tile into an invisible repair years later.
Pairing the Floor With the Rest of the Kitchen
For a backsplash in the same stone language, see our Marble & Stone kitchen wall tiles, or the Subway range for something plainer behind the hob. The same marble and stone floor designs for a living room sit under Living Area Floor Tiles, and a wood look alternative is in Wooden Tiles. Our kitchen floor tile guide pulls the choices together.
