Balconies and terraces, photographed finished. A balcony is usually the last space in a flat to get attention and the one where the right floor changes the most, because it turns a utility ledge into somewhere you would actually sit.
438 photographs, showing 337–360.
You will not find a glossy floor in these photographs, and that is deliberate rather than a gap in the range. Rain lands on a balcony, and a wet glossy floor outdoors is a fall waiting to happen. Matt, textured and rustic finishes hold grip.
A balcony floor has to slope towards its outlet. That is why so many of these are laid in smaller formats: a large rigid tile cannot follow two directions of fall at once, and the result either holds water or lips at the edges.
An outdoor tile in Bengaluru takes direct sun for part of the year and dust for the rest. The textured finishes here hide settled dust far better than a smooth one, which is worth more day to day than the colour.
Every photograph above links to the tile in it. To browse by design instead, see Geometrical, Wooden or Moroccan . For advice rather than photographs, read our exterior and elevation guide.
