Our bathroom wall tiles, photographed installed rather than as flat samples. A sample tells you the colour and nothing else; a finished wall tells you how a tile behaves against a mirror, a counter and the light from one small window. What to Look At in These Photographs

Look past the tile and at the joints. Grout colour changes a bathroom wall more than most people expect: matching grout makes a wall read as one surface, contrasting grout turns the pattern of joints into the design. The photographs here show both.

Then look at where the tile stops. Most Bengaluru bathrooms tile to door height rather than the ceiling, and where that line falls, and what sits above it, decides whether the room feels finished or cut off.

Highlighters, Used Well

A highlighter belongs on one wall, usually the one you face from the door, and usually behind the basin or the shower. Used on every wall it stops being a highlight. The rooms here that work keep the other three walls quiet.
